Lake County hosted the first annual Florida State Freshwater Fishing Championship in 1997 and the Lake County Governor’s Cup Bass Fishing qualifying tournament in Spring 1998.

BOATING is a way of life for many and Lake County is home to hundreds of shimmering lakes to fulfill your boating dreams. These small water bodies cover over 200 square miles, providing plenty of waterways to explore. The Harris Chain of Lakes offers a leisure day of boating where visitors can rent motorboats or pontoons. You can follow the chain of lakes up the St. Johns River to the Atlantic Ocean!
