Part 1 - Introduction
According to federal government statistics, between 8,000 and 11,000 Americans reach ‘retirement age” every day… And millions more ages 45 to 60 begin or continue the process of retirement planning. Most often, when we consider “retirement planning”, it is focused almost exclusively on the financial aspects of the plan. While this is obviously important, it is only a single component of planning the best retirement lifestyle for you. There is much, much more to a retirement plan than financial security.
For instance- what will you DO in retirement? Where will you live? Will you move to another location? Will you keep your present home, or buy (or rent) a second home? These are very important things to consider. And all of the research and deliberation that prepares one for a healthy, active, fulfilling retirement must be pointed toward a single goal: Finding the overall best retirement for you.
In coming installments we will explore a variety of considerations for those undertaking a comprehensive plan for their future retirement. Topics will include the question of relocation, regional pros and cons, best retirement housing considerations, financial and tax considerations, and of course how “lifestyle” plays a role in finding what’s right for you…
So be sure to check back occasionally as we begin to search for Your Best Retirement…
