Central Florida - Nature's Water Park!
It’s true. Florida is officially “The Sunshine State”, but it might also be called “The Water State”. Florida is nearly surrounded by water, sits on top of abundant aquifers, boasts thousands of miles of rivers and streams, and some of the world’s largest lakes and chains of lakes. Her storied and well-sung rivers wind their way through the state, offering endless opportunities for recreation, wildlife habitats, and burbling cold springs.
Water is a visible and seemingly endless component of the landscape, scenery, and topography, but Florida’s water supply is a perishable commodity, vulnerable to misuse, over-use, and even long-term disappearance. |

It is also true that in spite of the ever-present lure of water features, responsible water usage must become a part of our daily lives if that supply of potable water is to be maintained into the future. The concept that our supply of fresh water is not endless is often difficult to convey, and yet it must be understood if future generations are to be able to enjoy the same verdant Florida that we see today. |

Florida is not just where we are,
it is who we are; A Florida sensibility defines us and all we do.
The Pringle family fell in love with Florida decades ago, and that devotion has led to a philosophy of caretaker stewardship and a determination to preserve the beauty of the land and its eco-systems so that other generations may also enjoy her semi-tropical climate and natural splendor.
Respect for our natural environment and a strong desire to work and live in harmony with Florida’s eco-systems is Pringle’s guiding philosophy. We recognize and values those special qualities that are truly ‘Florida’ and we are committed to long term programs and policies that protect Florida’s treasured environment. Pringle does not just build homes. We create communities, lifestyles, and work hard to be responsible conservators of our beautiful Florida lands and environments. We don’t just say it, we mean it. We live here too. We know that this land is our future.
Watering efficiently promotes healthier lawns with deeper root systems that are more drought-tolerant. Over watering a lawn results in shallow root systems which are more susceptible to stress from insects, fungal disease, and excessive weed growth. Everything that you apply to your lawn makes its way into our ground and surface water.
We have invested one million dollars in a centralized irrigation system in Lakes of Mount Dora, which uses reclaimed water from the city of Mount Dora. When reclaimed water is not available, it can pull from the extensive lake system automatically. There are computerized weather stations around the community that monitor different aspects (wind, rainfall, soil conditions, etc.) and can also tap into weather forecasts of rain. The system is able to determine the best amount of watering possible, shuts off in rainy conditions, and can efficiently irrigate many home sites at the same time.
This computerized system offers many state-of-the-art features which can be quickly implemented with a few key strokes! Travel time, fuel, and labor hours between sites for programming issues are virtually eliminated.
